The HTC Vive Cosmos was launched last month, but has only recently entered the European market, and we now have a chance to play.
Vive el Cosmos is a direct ally of the original Vive and aspires to be a leading brand for the company. There have been more improvements before for the design and equipment. And that’s a contrast to the HTC Vive Eye that was introduced a couple of months ago.
It should start with the requirements. The Cosmos has an impressive 1440 x 1700px resolution for each screen with a resolution of 2800 x 1700px making it a high-end VR headset for commercial use. Each screen has a 3.4 ″ diagonal that uses RGB which indicates that the door threshold should be reduced.
It uses red, green and blue LEDs to illuminate behind the bright white LEDs. This will improve the accuracy of color, contrast, and clarity even though it is more expensive and difficult to operate.
The screens will be reset to 90Hz for better gaming, but this means that all the pixels should be up to 90 frames per second. Yes, it is in the game and HTC claims that old PCs will run if we stick to titles with the least demand or quality setting.
For inspection, the Vive Cosmos now uses internal inspection without the need for external posts. Like most Microsoft speech packages, the Vive Cosmos relies on cameras to monitor the environment and drivers.
The Cosmos comes with six custom-assisted cameras, a G-sensor and a gyroscope. The drivers illuminate to help the earbuds adapt to darker environments. The controllers also have their own in-house music – gyro and G, as well as room and city. Everything is used by two AA batteries for each operator.
Ergonomics and design
HTC is very proud of its redesigned design for the original Vive, and for good reason. Yes, the head is heavy, but that is a wait, because it contains a check. Sand is an area that allows you to get out of the virtual world on the go and most importantly, it feels comfortable there. Clothes-wearers are happy to know that HTC has considered this while designing.
Also, the front end of the band has been turned so that it fits over your forehead instead of tying your head. The pain that lasts for hours to time is greatly reduced, as long as we are able to maintain it. With this design, you will have little idea of the weight of the ears.
Also, the masters of modern VR are probably relatives – when a hull is playing to make the body move a lot, you get sweaty and the head feels like a headache. Vive has solved this problem by laying down washable washboards so that you can clean after two sessions.
As for the drivers, however, we think they need to be improved. A different shape of the hand at first needs to be familiar. They are also on the weight side. It is only short-lived because it makes it difficult for users with manual difficulty to keep their fingers on the device.
While there are few improvements to be made, drivers are still good for most cases and most of our collection.
The good thing is that the header is simple. Works with both devices from the Vive line so you can remove the earbuds, for example, and pat your own. You can also change the original Vive by swiping the front of the head with the INFRARED sensor signal instead of the cameras. This allows you to use the old outdoor inspection pills and work with all the heritage items pre-released on the Vive Cosmos.
HTC has also developed a wireless connection with Intel technology using WiGig technology. This mod frees you from wireless data transfer cables at 60ghz. Yes, this will add grams to the heavy head, but otherwise you will not have to worry about the ropes. Speaking of which, these are long, so there are a lot of places you can move.
It was a real virtual experience
So what does it look like? Well, this is the best VR experience we have ever had. How the VR headset looks great and deliverable.
The managers were strong at first, but you get used to them, not the mind. You can only compare if you use another VR headset. The true head is also slightly on the heavy side, as we have said, but the new design of the line is all different, as it is above your forehead rather than a stone on your head.
The show, however, is so surprising that it finds nothing to complain about. That was the best thing we ever got. There is a big difference between the pixel density and the RGB LED LED panels – the screen door screen is not very visible, especially when you try to capture objects in the game. The larger view is important to consider in order to incorporate a deeper gaming experience.
In terms of chasing, it is better. If it is too dark, the system will suffer. We were in a dark environment, however, losing the system of one or two of our managers, but returning soon. We see that this may be a problem in the future, but it is still in the surveillance systems.
HTC claims that the Vive Cosmos does not have a “dead zone” like some of Microsoft’s official headers, unless you leave your drivers behind. However, if you let your managers get too close to your face, you will get lost along the way. Almost all systems that have internal inspection are affected by this problem.
One of the things HTC has chosen is that Live Lens has a menu cover that allows you to switch between apps and games, as well as edit certain features. It will take you to Viveport (HTC’s own library of games and VR-related applications).
For information, if you purchase the header now, you will be given a six-month free trial for Viveport Infinite, a subscription service for VR games and applications. Delivery is available in Europe.
The strongest argument to buy the HTC Vive Cosmos is its price. There has come a time when you can buy a PC for less than HTC is asking for a headset. And the interior of the surveillance system presented by Vive el Cosmos is similar to the game, it is neither better nor worse in this area.
However, strengths such as the soft touch of the earbuds and the surprising display make it easy to recommend. The game has no answer for those. Also, going to the devices makes the Vive Cosmos more expensive than it looks. However, the standard price is € 829 and the addition of Wireless Networking, for example, is inevitably the best device for the headset, plus € 345.
