TSMC Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC has announced the start of light production, based on the 7nm + EUV system. In the press release, it was stated that the project was based on the original 7nm project that has been around for over a year.
The manufacturer also said that the new project will pave the way for 6nm solutions, which will start testing in Q1 2020, when multiple scales will be released for the end of next year.
According to David Chu, President of Hua Nan Securities, foreign investors are still looking at the progress made by TSMC in the 7nm + operation since mass production is one of the fastest growing complete recording. Taiwanese manufacturer helped shut down competitors because it was EUV’s first digital signage technology.
Ultraviolet technology allows the company to keep the light scale as the shortest wavelength and the EUV lamp improves nano-scale features. This will increase the capacity and improvement to 15% to 20%, making the new chips more popular with smartphone manufacturers.
The 6nm signal processing test is scheduled for the first quarter of next year, but the company expects 18% more powerful 7nm technology and maintains a similar design. TSMC is still working on the 5nm and 3nm construction, but is still researching the development phase.
